Family room

Steve and I have decided that it is going to be best if we focus on one room at a time because trying to get everything done all at once is just too overwhelming. The room that we are working on first is the family room, and it has already come a long way. When we bought the house the walls in this room were an awful pale blue/grey/green, and that color had to go.

This is how the previous owner had it. (By the way, that tiny light in the center of the room is the only one!!!)

We did some work on the room, and the pictures below are REALLY dark. My flash didn't capture the whole room very well at night, but you get the idea. I'll try to take some more pictures in the daylight the next time I am over there.

Steve put the great ceiling fan in, and hung the TV above the fireplace.

There is still a lot of work to do, but we are slowly making progress.

I need to get curtains, and figure out what else to hang on the walls. Steve is going to work on wiring the TV so that the wires are hidden, and installing some wall sconces to add light to the room. We would also like to put stone around the fireplace all the way to the ceiling.

  1. It's looking great. Can't wait to see more updates. It's weird seeing your furniture in, like, a house. Looks like you got a lot of good work out of mom and dad :)
